Job Description

HR Administrator - HR Systems, Data & Reporting

Castle Employment is recruiting an experienced HR Administrator to join an established, multi-site business based in Sherburn, North Yorkshire, offering a salary of £29,000 per annum. This is a permanent, full-time position, working Monday to Friday.

Are you an experienced HR Administrator who enjoys working with data, Excel and HR systems as much as supporting people?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the analytical side of HR, has strong Excel skills and takes pride in producing accurate reports, maintaining employee data and ensuring HR systems run effectively.

We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have experience working with HR data, management information, reporting and HR systems, alongside a solid understanding of day-to-day HR administration.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive HR team, you'll provide administrative, systems and reporting support to colleagues across multiple UK and Ireland sites.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and updating HR systems, ensuring employee information is accurate, complete and up to date.
  • Producing regular HR reports, management information and employee data analysis.
  • Using Excel, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and formulas, to manipulate, analyse and present HR information.
  • Extracting and reviewing data, identifying discrepancies and ensuring accuracy across HR records.
  • Supporting the development and improvement of HR reporting processes.
  • Working with HR and Time & Attendance systems to maintain accurate employee records.
  • Supporting payroll administration, including checking employee data and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assisting with recruitment administration, interview coordination and onboarding processes.
  • Preparing employment contracts, offer letters and other HR documentation.
  • Supporting employee changes, leaver processes and general HR administration.
  • Ensuring confidentiality, GDPR compliance and accuracy across all HR records.

About You

We're looking for an experienced HR Administrator who combines strong organisational skills with a naturally analytical and detail-focused approach.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in an HR Administrator, HR Assistant, HR Systems or HR Reporting role.
  • Strong Excel skills are essential, including practical experience using pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas and data manipulation.
  • Experience extracting, analysing and interpreting HR data to produce reports and management information.
  • Confidence working with large datasets, identifying discrepancies and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Experience using HR information systems (HRIS) and ideally Time & Attendance systems.
  • Knowledge of Power BI would be advantageous, particularly for reporting and data visualisation.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • A good understanding of confidentiality and GDPR when handling employee information.

Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering or multi-site environment would be advantageous, although candidates from other sectors are equally encouraged to apply.

What's on Offer?

  • Salary of £29,000 per annum.
  • Permanent, full-time position, Monday to Friday.
  • A varied HR position combining administration, systems, data analysis and reporting.
  • Exposure to HR operations across multiple UK and Ireland locations.
  • Opportunity to further develop your HR systems, reporting and analytical skills.
  • Supportive and collaborative HR team.
  • Opportunity to contribute to accurate HR reporting and continuous improvement of administrative processes.
